The title says it all. Here are 10 things I believe all dog owners should know about / have if you have a dog [or two ;)].
THIS HAS SAVED MY LIFE. Both of my goldens shed, A LOT. And this only weighs S-I-X pounds! It’s so easy to whip it around and when you have to vacuum every day, like me, you appreciate the fact that it’s cordless and so light weight. It’s pricey but so worth the investment.
The most under utilized tool for my shedders. We run this over out pups outside about once a month. It gets deep down (without irritating their skin) and gets all the loose hair off and into the brush. Better to be off and in the trash then on my floors š
This might seem silly but any folder will do. Having all of Charlie’s vet records in one folder and all of Berkeley’s in another has kept us so organized. It’s beyond nice to have all of their vaccination records, microchip information, and insurance information all in one place. That way when you take him to the sitter’s or god forbid in emergency – everything is in one place.
I WISH I would have known that this existed in Bloomington. The days of Charlie coming into the house with muddy paws have come to an end. You fill this up with water, a little bit of dog shampoo and shove their paw in and out. It’s as simple as that. The silicone bristles on the inside are able to break the mud down and really get the paw clean. It’s a game changer.
Another thing that might seem silly and obvious but it’s something I never thought about before I had dogs. Having a set of designated towels that can get muddy and wet and can easily be washed over and over is a huge plus. Having a few old beach towels in the closet that can go in the car when you go to the state park and know the pups will get wet are a must.
Amazon essentials lol. We raised Charlie in a little studio apartment downtown Bloomington which meant every time he went outside we carried this little poop carrier with us. Every dog owner knows about poop bags but the sheer amount of bags for the price is unreal. Whether your dog is a city dog or the occasional dog park go-er it’s nice to have a supply of baggies.
This is magic in a bottle. From puppy pee accidents, stomach bug puke or muddy paw prints – this gets it all out. This is our first apartment with carpet and it really removes the stain and the color almost instantly. I’ve been through a full bottle already and already stocked up a couple more bottles.
Not a want – a need. This has SAVED my leather seats. Just by having this car seat cover, they aren’t scratching my seats and the dog hair is kept all in the cover. It also helps because Charlie loves to crawl up into the front seat and this cover doesn’t allow it. Safer for the pups and the driver!
When quarantine hit we decided to sign up for BarkBox. Treats and toys delivered to my front door every month sounded like heaven. 7 months in and every time we get a box we’re more and more impressed. Normally we get 3 toys, 2 bags of treats and a bully stick – all for MUCH less then you would spend at Petsmart or Petco.
P.S. If you use the link through the picture you’ll get your first month free using my referral code!
Yes they’re just dogs but if you’re like me you get a little sad when you have to leave them. Having a Furbo gives me A LOT of peace of mind. I can just quickly check in – make sure Charlie’s still snoozing on the couch and make sure Berke hasn’t escaped his kennel and then go on with whatever I’m doing. The bonuses of being able to throw a treat, get notified when they bark or move around and have recordings throughout the day stored in one place are all cherries on top.
I sincerely hope this little list of “must haves” help and I hope you found a product that could help save your sanity with your pups š
